Let the battle… Commence.

Last night saw the highly anticipated return of 85th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood and hosted by first timer Seth Macfarlane, the stars hit the red carpet drenched in Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Alexander McQueen and many more.

But who wore it best?

Amanda Seyfried went for instant high impact hitting the red carpet with Alexander McQueen and I can safely say it paid off. Interesting necklines and embellishment gave her gown the necessary impact on the red-carpet that others lacked. Flaw length yet figure hugging, Amanda almost floated down the red carpet effortlessly looking chic. 8/10

Dior beauty Charlize Theron stormed the red carpet looking demure in a white Dior Couture number whilst also sporting a shocking new pixie crop which, she described as a “freeing experience” help to give her the shock element. Head to toe looking demure as she wowed onlookers in stunning white peplum It was clear shaving her hair had not affected Charlize’s confidence. 9/10

Woman of the night, Best Actress winner for Silver Linings Playbook, Jennifer Lawrence hit the red carpet resulting in a second triumph in the style stakes in her strapless Dior Haute Couture gown. Eye catching and looking perfection with a simple yet stylish gown, Miss Lawrence wowed on lookers as she posed for photographers with what many people will agree the dress of the night. 10/10

Winning Best Supporting Actress was an emotional triumph for Anne Hathaway and with a second victory on the red carpet, in a pale pink Prada number, Anne effortlessly beamed down the red carpet in this safe nude garment letting her competition know she is a fierce competitor in the style steaks. 7/10

After an emotional night and unexpectedly taking home an Oscar for her vocals on the box office smash Skyfall, Adele played it safe in the style steaks with a glitzy stylish flaw length gown from British designer Jenny Packham. Looking eye catching and glamorous as always Adele strutted down the red carpet beaming with joy. 7/10

The time has come…

Oscar fever 2013 is officially here and today saw The Oscars hit The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Held perfectly together by first time presenter, Seth Macfarlane, this was certainly a memorable and emotional academy awards.

Daniel Day-Lewis has made a well deserved, Oscars history by winning the best actor prize for a third time. His third time victory came for playing America’s 16th President in Steven Spielberg’s box office smash Lincoln.

After taking a short stumble before her acceptance speech, Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar for best actress for her role as a young widow in Silver Linings Playbook. Ben Affleck’s Iran hostage thriller Argo won the highly anticipated and most talked about award for best picture.

Watching her mother play Fantine on broadway when a young child an emotional Anne Hathaway won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role as tragic factory worker Fantine in the spectacular, unmissable and breath-taking movie musical Les Miserables.

Christoph Waltz won his second Oscar for best supporting actor in a Quentin Tarantino, this time as a German bounty hunter in the slave revenge story Django Unchained.

Adele struggled through tears to thank the Bond producers and her co-writer Paul Epworth who collected the Oscar for best original song on the UK number 1, Skyfall.

The awards drew to an end leaving hopefuls of an Oscar already awaiting 2014, but left the luckily few feeling content and overjoyed. Each and every winner was truly more than deserving for their award.
